We Couldn't Get Everyone Down
Hustlin' at Strangecreek Campout
1,800 miles. One headlining set. Zero regrets.
Strangecreek Campout is one of those festivals where the tie dye is mandatory and the animal hats are serious business, and Sneezy has always had a home there. Getting to headline this year felt earned. Ninety minutes to make the whole field funkier.
But before we even got to the stage, something happened in a kitchen in New Jersey that I have to tell you about. We crashed with Danny’s great aunt Loretta on the way out. Loretta is a Boogie Nation member, a GoFundMe contributor, and — as of Saturday morning — Destiny’s personal hustle instructor. I have photo evidence. Destiny was a willing student. The kitchen was our dance floor, much earlier than anyone wanted their eyes open.
That’s the kind of thing that makes 900 miles feel like nothing. Thank you, Loretta. You’re our favorite patron of the arts.
You may remember we acquired a gym class parachute. We’ve been bringing it to shows. The bit is: everyone gets down to throw it in the air, elementary school style.
Strangecreek had more hands on that parachute than we’ve ever seen. So many hands that we couldn’t get everyone down — too much excitement, too much momentum. So we just... shook it. The parachute became a tent. The tent became a dance floor. There was a technicolor place to boogie, the Sneezy guarantee.
Okay. I have to tell you something. I can’t tell you everything yet, but I have to tell you something.
Sneezy is making a move. Something built from scratch, a big effort to get a new song into your hands as fast as humanly possible. No waiting rooms. No industry timelines. Just the band, the music, and you.
I’ll have more soon. Keep your eyes open.
If you were at Strangecreek, tag us. If you weren’t, follow along anyway — something is brewing and social media is where you’ll see it first. Find us @ sneezymusic on instagram.
